Keep your Mustang cool with our Mega Cool IV Performance Radiator Kit! This aluminum crossflow radiator offers far superior cooling than a standard downflow radiator. The larger surface, superior crossflow design, dual fans and aluminum material all offer marked advantages over traditional stock radiator set ups. This kit is a must for late model 5.0 roller cam motor conversions! Ideally suited for small block Ford applications.
We utilize a proprietary bracket set up made specifically for the classic Mustang & Falcon. This is NOT a universal kit! Our brackets allow for easy, straight forward installation. We’ve staggered the dual electric fans for the purpose of clearing the troublesome Ford water pump that prohibits many electric fan applications. The dual electric fan setup pulls enough air over the entire radiator core to keep coyotes and any small block applications happy, assisted by an enclosed aluminum fan shroud!
The dual Spal electric puller type fans consist of brushed fan motors, 10-blades (each) and an approximate depth of 2.05″, allowing this set up to have appropriate clearances for the water pump pulley etc.

Low draw dual fans pull only 12 amps combined at startup and 7 amps continuous for smooth, quiet and efficient cooling.
Top beauty cover/brackets and shroud are powder coated black with a durable, oil resistant coating to keep it looking fresh and easy to clean.

Battery relocation or trimming of the battery tray will be required
Some trimming of the radiator core support will be required, allowing more air flow over the radiator surface and allotting for more space between the fans and water pump.

- Automatic transmission versions are equipped with an automatic transmission cooler that features 1/2-20 threaded ports for standard 5/16″ line nuts (5/16 steel lines can be purchased with line nuts from your local parts store)
*Radiator cap* Currently no cap is included, we have found these caps to be good quality and a good fit. Stant 10329 for 13 lb application, Stant 10330 for 16 lb applications.

- How does the Mega Cool Radiator differ from a standard Mustang radiator?
A: The Autoworks Mega Cool Radiator Kit is an aluminum cross flow design that is both wider and taller than your original classic Mustang radiator. It’s aluminum material, cross flow design, dual electric fans and larger surface area all combine to create a much more efficient and powerful cooling solution than standard Mustang radiators.
- Does this radiator require any modifications for installation?
A: Yes, the Autoworks Mega Cool Radiator will require some minor modifications for installation.
- The core support opening will need to be trimmed open further to allow for ample air flow over the larger surface area, as well as giving you more space to fit between the core support and water pump nose.
- Your battery will need to be relocated to the trunk, or optionally, your battery tray will need to be trimmed, and a more compact battery used.
- Holes will need to be drilled into the frame rails for the lower mounts
- The bolt holes on your hood latch support/core support will need to be bored to a slightly larger size for out upper mounting bracket.
- What are the recommended coolant types for this radiator?
A: We recommend using a 50/50 mix of either green or orange coolant. Yellow coolant is typically best for copper radiators and traditionally not recommended for aluminum components.
- Does the Mega Cool Radiator affect engine bay space or fitment?
A: Yes, because the Autoworks Mega Cool Mustang Radiator is much larger than the original factory radiator, more space will be needed in the engine compartment and can be created by trimming open the core support and relocating the battery to the trunk.
- Does this radiator require any special hoses or fittings?

- What are the dimensions of the Mega Cool Radiator?

A: While this kit can work with a factory small block 45-degree thermostat housing, we highly recommend a 90-degree thermostat housing for a cleaner, better looking installation.
